Light and chewy, these original glazed donuts are a good way to get someone out of bed in the morning. Who would avoid a copycat from a Krispy Kreme recipe?

YOU'LL NEED:

* 2 C. all-purpose flour (8 ounces).

* 3 TBSP Of milk.

* 3 TBSP Of boiling water.

* 3 TBSP Of sugar ( about 3 tablespoons).

* 1 TBSP Of butter. to room temperature.

* 1 TSP Of dry active yeast.

* A dash salt.

* An egg.

* Vegetable oil for frying.

TO MAKE THE GLAZE, YOU'LL NEED:

*1/2 cup butter

* 2 cups confectioners’ sugar

* 1+1/2 TSP Of vanilla extract.

* 4 TBSP Of hot water.

Directions

* STEP 1-Combine the milk and boiling water in a large measuring jug. Apply yeast and 1 Tsp of sugar. Stir it slowly, then leave it for the yeast to activate in a sunny place.

* STEP 2-Combine the flour with the rest of the sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Using your hands cut in the butter, until it becomes crumbs. To the flour mixture, add the egg and the yeast mixture and blend into a smooth dough. It normally takes about 5 minutes to blend.

* STEP 3-Turn the dough out on a lightly-flowered counter and knead for around 10 minutes, under the top, it should feel springy and tiny bubbles should form. Place it back in the tub, cover it with a wrap of fabric or plastic, and let it grow for about an hour before the size doubles.

* STEP 4-Place the dough on the counter until it has risen, and break it into 4 bits. Stretch it into a long rope about an inch to an inch and a half-length, one piece at a time.

* STEP 5-Place the donuts in the oil and fry for about 2 minutes, until each side is golden brown. Make careful to just cook a handful at a time to prevent them from overcrowding and sticking together.

* STEP 6-Drain over a cloth on a paper towel or wire shelf, before glazing them. Make sure to glaze them hot, or they're not going to get the delicious coverage!
