Pecan Tarts



Perfect for entertaining, these tarts will be all the rage served as a dessert or to end a good family brunch!



* Ingredients:


For the dough:

° 1 1/2 cups flour

° 1/3 cup butter, softened

° 1/4 cup very cold water

° 1 tbsp Maple syrup

For garnish :

° 1/4 cup melted butter

° 1/3 cup flour

° 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

° 1 1/2 cups maple syrup

° 1 egg

For the caramelized pecans:

° 3/4 cup chopped pecans

° 3 tbsp Maple syrup

° 3 tbsp Maple flakes


* Steps :


In the container of the food processor, place the dough ingredients. Blend until  get ball of dough. packing dough in plastic wrap also refrigerate for 31 min .

Once ready to cooking , preheat oven at 180 ° C .

In a saucepan, mix the butter for the garnish with the flour, vanilla and maple syrup. Adduce to a boil, stir, until  blending thick . Take from  heat & permit cooled .

Add  egg to  pot & stir .

On a floured surface, roll out  dough to a slender layer. Cutting six 3 3/4 inch circles from the dough . Put circles of dough in six 3 inch  diameter tart molds.

Divide the maple filling among the tarts. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

In a bowl, combine the ingredients for the caramelized pecans.

Place the pecan mixture on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking.

Garnish the tarts with caramelized pecans.
