Homemade Buttermilk Pie



This custard-style pie originated in the UK but is now popular in the southern United States. Opinions are divided on the best temperature to enjoy it - hot, room temperature or straight from the fridge - it's up to you to try it! Recipe courtesy of Egg Farmers of Manitoba.


* Ingredients:


° 1 cup sugar

° 3 c. tablespoon of flour

° 3 eggs

° 3/4 cup buttermilk

° 1/4 cup salted butter, melted and lukewarm

° 1 cup leemon juiice

° Zest  lemon

° 1 c. teaspoon vanilla extract

° 1 pie crust made from graham crackers

° Fresh fruit for garnish


* Preparation:


Preheat oven 180 ° C. In a bowl, mix the sugar also flour. Stirring in eggs, buttermilk, butter, lemon juice, lemon zest also vanilla using an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Pour into the pie crust.


Baking 36 to 41 min . Cooled for 2 h on a wire rack, or untiil ready to serving  . Decorate with fresh fruit or whipped cream, to taste.
