* the ingredients :


+To prepare the base:

° Flour - a cup and a quarter

° Salt - half a teaspoon

° Sugar - half a teaspoon

° Butter, cut into cubes - 100 gr

° Cold water - 3 tablespoons

+To prepare the filling:

° Pecans - one and a half cups

° Eggs - 4

° Corn syrup - a cup

° Melted butter - 4 tablespoons

° Vanilla extract - a tablespoon

° Sugar - half a cup


* The method of work :


1- To prepare the base: In an electric mixer, put the flour, salt and sugar.

2- Gradually add the butter pieces, whisking constantly.

3- Pour the water over the mixture gradually and mix until the dough holds together well.

4- Roll the dough, then cover it with a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator for about an hour.

5- Using a rolling pin, spread the dough onto a hard surface sprinkled with flour.

6- Put the dough in a tart tray and press it gently with your fingers to take the shape of the mold.

7- To prepare the filling: Preheat oven to 180 ° C.

8- Place the pecan nuts in a frying pan and roast for about 5 minutes over a medium heat, stirring without stopping with a wooden spoon.

9- Turn off the heat and set the pecans aside.

10- In an electric mixer, mix well the eggs, corn syrup, vanilla extract, butter and sugar.

11- Add the pecan nuts and mix gently with a wooden spoon.

12- Pour the filling over the tartar pan and stretch it well.

13- Bake the pie for about 45 minutes or until the center is puffy and hard.

14- Take the pie out of the oven, let it cool down, then serve.
