This Mississippi Return Sauce is so good
!!!
I live in Mississippi, so I guess posting a
recipe for Mississippi Comeback sauce one day was inevitable! Utah has fry
sauce, Louisiana has Remoulade, and Mississippi has back sauce.
You can use this goo sauce as a dip for
vegetables, shrimp, and grilled meats and I'm sure of some other things I
hadn't thought of. It also works well as a salad dressing or sandwich sauce, a
great improvement over regular mayonnaise!
Mississippi Return Sauce Very Good !!!
There's no doubt that comeback sauce
originated in Jackson, Mississippi, but as is often the case with a classic
recipe like this one, the exact origins of the original recipe are still hotly
debated.
According to Clarion Ledger of Jackson,
many credit The Rotisserie, the first Greek restaurant for Jackson to make
comeback sauce, but others claim it originated in 1935 in what is believed to
be the oldest restaurant in town, the Mayflower Café.
