7 Natural Products to Get Rid of Cockroaches

4 – WE GIVE OURSELVES THE GREAT DIATOM EARTH

No need for chemical-based gels and aerosols against these critters! Buy this non-toxic natural insecticide at the nearest drugstore, stores specializing in natural products or in some supermarkets. Then, once equipped, make small piles of powder sprinkled with sugar every 10 or 15 cm at traffic areas (baseboards, pipes, cracks, garbage chutes, under the kitchen sink, etc.). In fact, by wanting to fill their bellies with a sugary meal, they are sure to end up poisoned by diatomaceous earth.

5 – MINT OIL

This type of oil is known to be an ideal ant or spider repellent. Additionally, it can also be used against cockroaches. The easiest method for this is to mix it with vinegar. To prepare the solution, mix white vinegar with a few drops of peppermint oil and pour the liquid into a spray bottle. Then, spray the cockroaches’ favorite corners of your home (under the sink in the bathroom, the cabinets in the kitchen area, the hallways, etc.).

6 – A HOMEMADE ANTI-COCKROACH TRAP WITH BORIC ACID

The use of this anti-cockroach product is the most widespread solution to fight against cockroaches. It can be found in the form of powder, gel, aerosol or granules. Boric acid is used by mixing it with sweetened condensed milk to attract cockroaches.

Mix boric acid with a little sweetened condensed milk in a container. Mix the two components to make a homogeneous paste. Form small balls with the material obtained. Then stick them on the floor or walls of the most cockroach-infested areas. This method can kill cockroaches in just a few hours. However, boric acid is a toxic and dangerous product. It should therefore be used away from pets or children.

7 – THE CUCUMBER TRAP TO DEFEAT ROACHES

Place slices of cucumber, which is a very good insect repellent, in a dish, the cockroaches will smell the odor given off by this vegetable and will rush to scamper off.
