Cheesy Chicken and Bacon-Stuffed Bread Loaf

    Ingredients

    For the Bread Dough

    • 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (or 1 packet)
    • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F/45°C)
    • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 large eggs, plus 1 egg yolk (reserve the white for egg wash)
    • 3½ cups all-purpose flour, divided
    • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt

    For the Filling

    • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken breast
    • 1 cup crumbled cooked bacon
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend for extra spice)
    • ½ cup sour cream
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

    For Assembly

    • 1 egg white, beaten (for egg wash)
    • Coarse sea salt or sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

    Instructions

    Step 1: Make the Dough

    1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes, or until frothy.
    2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, 2 eggs, sugar, and salt. Stir in the yeast mixture.
    3. Gradually add 3 cups of flour, stirring until a soft dough forms. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5–7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
