Ingredients
- 8 cups Crispix cereal
- 2 cups pecan halves (salted preferred)
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- ½ cup unsalted butter
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients
- Lightly grease a large baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the Crispix cereal and pecan halves. Set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Sugar Mixture
- In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter over medium heat.
- Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil. Once boiling, continue stirring for 1 minute to ensure everything is fully combined and bubbly.
Step 3: Combine Everything
- Remove the sugar mixture from the heat and pour it immediately over the Crispix and pecan mixture in the bowl.
- Stir gently but quickly to coat the cereal and nuts evenly with the sticky syrup.
Step 4: Shape the Treats
- Using greased hands or a spoon, drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each cluster slightly for even cooling.
- Alternatively, press the entire mixture into a greased 8x8-inch pan for bars instead of clusters.
Step 5: Cool and Enjoy
- Let the treats cool completely at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or refrigerate for faster setting.
- Break apart the clusters (or cut the bars) and store them in an airtight container for up to one week.
