This recipe combines the crispy goodness of Crispix cereal with rich pecans, buttery sweetness, and a hint of corn syrup for sticky, delicious clusters. Perfect for snacking, gifting, or satisfying your sweet tooth, these treats are quick to whip up and always a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Crispix cereal
  • 2 cups pecan halves (salted preferred)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup unsalted butter

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients

  1. Lightly grease a large baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Crispix cereal and pecan halves. Set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Sugar Mixture

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter over medium heat.
  2. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil. Once boiling, continue stirring for 1 minute to ensure everything is fully combined and bubbly.

Step 3: Combine Everything

  1. Remove the sugar mixture from the heat and pour it immediately over the Crispix and pecan mixture in the bowl.
  2. Stir gently but quickly to coat the cereal and nuts evenly with the sticky syrup.

Step 4: Shape the Treats

  1. Using greased hands or a spoon, drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each cluster slightly for even cooling.
  2. Alternatively, press the entire mixture into a greased 8x8-inch pan for bars instead of clusters.

Step 5: Cool and Enjoy

  1. Let the treats cool completely at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or refrigerate for faster setting.
  2. Break apart the clusters (or cut the bars) and store them in an airtight container for up to one week.
